It’s you…oh God, it has been some time hasn’t it?

So here we are, basking in the gold and orange illuminations that flow in through the gap in the curtains, after an ill advised liason with a stranger. We are in each others company and there is no immediate escape. You had better think of something to say pretty quickly, the mutual awareness of silence is becoming deafening. Clammy and spent, you realise that your clothes are on the far side and you cannot bear any further physical contact. Welcome back. It has been some time.

As you can see, there have been some aesthetic changes here, of which I am quite pleased. There is still to be some minor tweaking and so we shall see where it leads us. It is sure to be an exciting year here, as my distractions are being slowly eradicated. Distractions that whilst beneficial in the context of the previous 12 months, now serve no further purpose. Like us, they must evolve if they are to survive and be in any way relevant.

I have remained busy, writing to unprecedented amount and to great result. I am currently toying with the format of all of this so that I can find a happy medium in between the drooling, purile part of my brain that likes to scrawl demented and slighly unnerving comic art in cosmetics with my clenched fists, and the slightly more ambitious, hateful, contrived and pretentious part that likes to pontificate to the virtual bus stop that is here.

But like the crazed Parisian who wrote me a poem recently, which I still cannot fully decipher, I will stumble away just as the fear has subsided and interest has piqued. I will be back though. You just watch me.

I never grew up to be……………..

Yes indeedy, Jimmy Misanthrope has very graciously included my very own Godzilla Boy in his Best Webcomics of 2008, which can be found here. I quote “Godzilla Boy!
One of life’s downtrodden neon victims, the character Godzilla Boy is the epitome of a square peg in a world full of unforgiving round holes. There’s a depth of pathos contained withing the twisted, surreal snapshots into GB and his sad existence that one mightn’t expect to discover in a comic about a guy in a Godzilla costume, but its there, and its brilliant.
ZombieHamster once told me that he “hates his characters, and they deserve to suffer”, which is fine and dandy with me, as suffer they do, and suffer they do well
.” – How awesome is that? I was very happy to see this and it made my day!
There are some other great webcomics of note mentioned.

Jimmy’s own Agents of the Endtimes can be nabbed here and is well worth a gander. One of my personal favourites from the list is Platinum Grit which is one of the best webcomics I have read in a long time.

I did also spend a ridiculous amount of time today reading the adventures of the Cool Cat Studio.
Gisele Lagase’s art is just so sharp and beautiful, but also very reminiscent of Archie comics (of which I have a secret love)
this is a highly recommended little tale, which really takes off after the initial few months.

So you could do a lot worse than investigate a few of these, hit Jimmy’s link to explore his favourites and let me know what you all think. If you know of other worthy titles for me to explore, plese hit me up with some links. Right, now I’m off to finish a picture I started.

I am indeed having one of these days…….
